This project aims at the development of direct synthetic transformation of hydrocarbons based on a hybrid catalyst system consisting of photo-induced catalysis and transition metal catalysis. Photo-induced catalysis converts hydrocarbons into energetic intermediates, and the ensuing transition metal catalysis combines the energetic intermediates with reagents to furnish coupling products.
